Our Mission

Individualized care, honest guidance.

The Thoroughbred Transition Project provides individualized care and retraining for retired racehorses. Rather than shaping them into predetermined roles, we guide each horse toward the career and home where they are happiest and best suited.

Every horse who comes through TTP is given the time and veterinary attention needed to truly let down from the rigors of racing. Only then do we begin retraining, and only then do we begin to see who that horse really wants to be in their second career. Sometimes that is a competitive sport horse. Sometimes that is a quiet trail companion. Our job is to listen.

“Our job is to listen to who each horse actually is, and then find the home where that horse can be exactly that.”
